We here at Brunswick United Methodist Church believe that there are many ways to serve and be involved in the life of the congregation. No matter what your gifts and talents may be we want to help you find a group that meets your needs. We'd be more than happy to work with you to find that perfect match if you are looking to get more involved.
The Chancel Choir sings at our Sunday services at 10am. This group offers up choral repertoire in many different styles--classical, spirituals, contemporary, hymn arrangements, folk, world, gospel and others. The choir sings September through May and also participates in an Advent/Christmas program. All are welcome to join! What is the commitment? The choir meets Thursday evenings, beginning at 7:00 pm with and on Sunday mornings at 9am.
Ringing in the Good News is the Brunswick Bells handbell choir. Brunswick Bells is a three octave handbell and chime group that rings once a month at our Sunday 10am service. They also collaborate with other ensembles several times throughout the year. The Brunswick Bells would love to have you come ring! All levels of musical skill are welcome. Brunswick Bells meets Thursday evenings from September through May at 6pm in the Music Room downstairs.
The Caring Ministry actively lives out service by visiting and making phone calls to provide a loving connection for those unable to attend services; sending cards for ongoing support in times of illness and loss as well as cards and notes of encouragement; and holding Northridge Nursing Home communion services--three services per year with fellowship time. The Caring Ministry meets once a month, September through May.
United Methodist Women (UMW)
The United Methodist Women (UMW) is a congregational group, as well as a national and international organization. The purpose of the UMW is to know God and experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
We are always in need of people who can share their time with God's most young and curious of learners. By teaching Sunday school you are committing your time to the future generations of the church. No experience is necessary. Come share your gifts with our kids!
