GRIEF SUPPORT: GRIEFSHARE'S FROM MOURNING TO JOY
Several years ago Pastor Mike Dyrdal offered a series of grief support and recovery classes that were well received by Brunswick members. Before her death, Audrey Johnson encouraged Pastor Ruth Ann to consider offering this course again, and other members of the Caring Ministry Team concurred. Pastor Ruth Ann will be offering Mourning to Joy on Wednesday evenings in Lent, immediately following our mid-week worship services.
GriefShare's Mourning to Joy is a 13-week series in total. We will begin Wednesday, February 21 at 7 pm (new start date) and continue meeting weekly through May 16. See schedule below. Although attending weekly would provide the most benefit, grieving people can’t always make this kind of commitment, so everyone is welcome to attend as few or many sessions as they are able. Each week is self-contained. Start at any time, and attend the sessions you choose or your schedule accommodates.
This program does invite you to explore your own grief experiences and to seek personal healing. However, it is not intended merely for people experiencing recent grief. Grief is a life-long journey; exploring your own experiences of loss will not only encourage your healing, but will also allow you to become a more caring friend to others experiencing grief. Our sessions include discussion, but no one will ever be put on the spot to participate.
Pre-registration for this class is not required, but it is recommended so we can be sure to have adequate materials. Please call the church office or speak to Pastor Ruth Ann for more information.
