Our Core Values

All people matter to God. We believe that the world is our parish and that all people matter to God. Our specific mission field is the geographic area nearby the Brunswick facility. This calls us to relational evangelism and evangelism as a process. (Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14)

Faith is a life-long adventure of growth. We believe that God intends faith to be a life-long adventure of growth, taking on the character of Christ. This includes the concepts of growing in Christ-likeness and living the fruits of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22)

Jesus calls us to service. We believe that Jesus calls us to service, to meet people where they are, supply needs as He did, model our lives after Him and share the grace we have been given. This includes the concepts of incarnation ministry, servanthood, and the pursuit of Kingdom goals. (1 Kings 11:4; Philippians 2:1-11; 2 Corinthians 8:7)

We are a unified community of servants. We believe that a church should operate as a unified community of servants with men and women empowered to use their spiritual gifts. This includes the concepts of unity, servanthood, spiritual gifts, leadership, and ministry callings. (1 Corinthians 12 and 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; Psalm 133:1)

Loving relationships. We believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of life. This includes the concepts of love-driven ministry, ministry accomplished in teams, and relationship building. (1 Corinthians 13; Nehemiah 3; Luke 10:1; John 13:34-35)

Small group ministry. We are committed to small group ministry where life transformation, conversion, and leadership development takes place. This includes the concepts of discipleship, vulnerability, and accountability. (Luke 6:12-13; Acts 2:44-47)

Reliance on prayer and Scripture. We are comitted to reliance on prayer and Scripture for direction, conception, planning, and execution of the ministries and activities of this church. (Colossians 1:9-12)

Good stewards. We are committed to being good stewards of God's creation, financially generous, acting justly, sharing our resources and talents. This includes the concept of stewardship and remembering our United Methodist membership vows. (Luke 16:2; Proverbs 22; Micah 6:8)

Excellence honors God. We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people. This includes the concepts of evaluation, critical review, intensity and excellence. (Colossians 3:17; Malachi 1:6-14; Proverbs 27:17)

Being culturally relevant. We believe that the church should be culturally relevant while remaining true to the Gospel. This includes the concept of sensitivity relating the Gospel using our facility, printed materials, arts, and experiencing God in a variety of creative ways. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)

Ethnic diversity. We believe that God has a high appreciation of ethnic diversity, which is therefore to be honored in the church. (This value is still being developed.)
